BIBLICAL LAW 101:
The Church sat back in 1973 when the Supreme Court hijacked the Legislative Branch by, essentially, making Roe v Wade the Law of the Land and equivalent to legislation, though never presented to the Congress for a vote, clearly not within the purview of the Judicial Branch. To date, we’ve had over 60 million abortions in America. Have we had our fill, yet? No worries for the church, this was evidence of the End Times when the church would be taken away from this evil world and billions of ‘evil’ people that God created, like those Jonah wanted to abandon in Nineveh, would be abandoned to their own ways; billions of people “that cannot discern between their right and their left hand.” “The End was Near.”
The Church sat back while prayer and any other mention of God (Christmas?) were exorcised from our schools… even an innocent “moment of silence” was verboten because one student might use that moment to think of God in a government building, and that, according to some distorted view of our Founders, is anathema to the civilized mind. No worries, “The End is getting Nearer.”
The Church sat back while the family unit was destroyed, even the sacrament of marriage, for thousands of years recognized as a one of a kind social contract between a man and a woman, was desecrated. “The End approaches Nearer still.”
The Church sat back when COVID came to town and bought into the executive mandates to stay home, wear a mask, and social distance. After all, it was the law, right? Actually, no, it was part of some wild executive decisions that began to make less and less sense. People were forbidden from attending church services even outside within the safety of their vehicles. “The End Must Certainly Be Near.”
Casinos have been given the green light, as have many other establishments, but churches…
Today, there are churches that are still shuttered by liberal mayors who allow all other kinds of non-essential behavior to carry on. Pause for a moment… is this really about wearing a mask for safety, staying home for safety, social distancing for safety? Have you ever observed those handing down these edicts when they think no one is watching?
Some think that we are Scripturally bound to follow the laws of man, but there is a caveat to those declarations. According to Romans 13, the ruler is not meant to be a terror to good works but to evil works. Any leader that does not meet that criteria holds no authority over God’s people, such rule is illegitimate especially in our Constitutional Republic. In other words, “We ought to obey God rather than men,” should we not?
It’s time for the church to stand up and declare its true inheritance. It comes from God not the state. Incorporation under the state makes the state the head of the church in the place of God. It’s time for the churches to abrogate incorporation under the state and render to Caesar what is his, but render all else to God, for the earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof.
