One day, the protagonist of our story awakened and found out that his bank account was empty, well, almost empty… his thousands had been reduced to $100. WTH?
So, he called the bank to see what was going on and what happened to his money. He was informed that it was a result of the Democrat’s new Equity Program. In an attempt to level the playing field, make it fair for all, everyone’s wealth was confiscated and everyone was then given $100. It was a hard slap in the face for our protagonist but, believe it or not, it was a step up for some.
Not one to wallow in the mud for very long, our protagonist got started with that $100 to “Build Back Better.” By the end of the first day our protagonist’s $100 had turned into $1,000. Compare that to those who had managed to turn their $100 into nothing and put themselves right back where they started.
So, what’s the moral of our story? Well, if we allow the confiscation of wealth in the name of Equity, it won’t be long before the Democrats decide it’s time to initiate another Equity Program.
Dr. Thomas Sowell told this story…
There is an old Russian fable, with different versions in other countries, about two poor peasants, Ivan and Boris. The only difference between them was that Boris had a goat and Ivan didn’t. One day, Ivan came upon a strange-looking lamp and, when he rubbed it, a genie appeared. She told Ivan that she could grant him just one wish, but it could be anything in the world.
Ivan said, “I want Boris’ goat to die.”
