It’s the Constitution, Stupid!

There is an increasing amount of angst amongst Progressive Leftists over the Electoral College, the US Senate, and the original method in which Senators were to be selected (by the state legislators, not the popular vote)… these fears are common amongst those who don’t understand that America was not established as one big federal state, thus allowing the population centers of New York and California to run rough shod over the peoples of the other 48 states but, as Thomas Jefferson explained it in the Declaration of Independence: as free and independent states… (each) having “full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do” (as did the European state-countries).

In order to coerce smaller states to join and ratify a Constitution, promises had to be made regarding a fair representation for all, small and large:

> A Lower House was established of which representation was to be based upon population size – more populated states = larger representation.

> An Upper House was established which representation was to be based on an equal say of each independent state.

Recent concerns over a president, in this case Donald Trump, chosen by the Electoral College instead of the popular vote, and selecting Supreme Court Justices, ignores the fact that Bill Clinton won his first term with only 43% of the popular vote and installed two liberal justices in the SCOTUS within his first two years in office. In fact, his first nominee was installed within months of his inauguration.

It’s truly sad that inDUHviduals who proport to represent the people, of the individual and independent states, are so ignorant of the facts of the Constitution that they swore to uphold. Nancy Pelosi, regarding ObamaCare, the, so-called, misnamed “Affordable Care Act“, made the ridiculous statement that it had to first be passed before we could find out what was in it.

Can I make a suggestion that all who seek to represent the people, as outlined in the Constitution, first read the Constitution to find out what they are promising to do? (Anecdotally, I am reminded of a local automobile brake and muffler shop that advertised a discount coupon in the local paper. The stick poked in your eye was that the shop required all coupons be presented before pricing for services was quoted. Man, I don’t know about you, but that dog just ain’t gonna hunt for me.)

In the end, methinks that those who choose to represent the people and raise their right hands, swearing to uphold the US Constitution, who have either never read or never understood the Constitution, are thus lying to us. They have no real compulsion to serve our interests if raised above their own interests; they are self-seeking hypocrites.

So, come on, man… someone, Change My Mind!
